FAQ
What is a gasket? A gasket is a mechanical seal which fills the space between two or more mating surfaces, generally to prevent leakage from or into the joined objects while under compression. Why do I need new gaskets? Worn and cracked gaskets cost you money. Escaping cold air wastes electricity and can cause your compressor to overload. They are also unsanitary and create a breeding ground for many disease causing organisms. When you do not have a good seal on your cooler/freezer the temperature of the food will not meet health department regulation. What is the best way to clean gaskets? Contrary to popular belief, bleach is not a good chemical to use on gaskets. It is too harsh and can cause the material in the gaskets to break down and dry out. The best approach is to use a soft towel and soap and wipe down the gaskets a few times a week. Do not remove the gasket from the track as this will hinder the seal on all four corners. Plus our technicians work hard to properly install the gasket to meet the manufactures specifications. Contact us for your FREE ESTIMATE today! |
